The Ottawa County Adult Probation Department staff consists of one Chief Probation officer, two probation officers, and one secretary.

The duties and responsibilities of the probation officers consist of conducting pre-sentence and pre-trial diversion investigations and the related supervision duties.

The officers attend all criminal cases initial appearances and arraignment hearings. The officers attend other criminal case hearings at the direction of the Court.

The officers monitor courthouse security and maintain a liaison with area law-enforcement and counseling agencies. The officers maintain a consistent monitoring of persons under supervision with the department.

The secretarial personnel type all reports and correspondence, prepare all probation office criminal files, answer telephones, monitor probation appointments, monitor office supply needs and generally accommodate all office needs.

The department submits an annual budget proposal and year end operational report.
